Topper Base Systems
Different Bases. Coverage Built Around the Wearer.
Base material, shape and attachment influence how a topper sits and blends. Start with the intended coverage and parting, then develop the construction around them.
Clip-in designs support removable self-application. Tape-compatible versions require suitable attachment zones and fitting instructions for the selected system; professional fitting is recommended.

Lace Bases
Develop the lace area around the desired coverage and hairline. Coordinate the mesh, knot construction, density and edge finish for the intended parting and attachment layout.

Monofilament Bases
Specify the mono area and hair direction around the intended parting. Review the mesh, perimeter support and transition into the surrounding base on a finished sample.

Silk Bases
Layered silk-base constructions help conceal the knots beneath the visible top layer. Confirm the parting area, thickness, front transition and density together during sampling.

PU and Hybrid Bases
Use PU sections or combine materials to suit the base and attachment brief. Tape-compatible designs need suitable attachment areas for the selected tape system.

Open mesh or fishnet designs allow natural hair to blend through selected openings. Develop the mesh layout, coverage and top section around the intended fitting method.
Construction Details

Review the base as a complete structure. Its contour, hair distribution and attachment layout should support the intended fit and finished appearance.

Coverage and Contour
Define the base width, depth, shape and front contour. Match the coverage area to the intended fit, then confirm how the finished perimeter sits against the head.

Parting and Hair Direction
Choose the parting position and usable parting space for the selected base. Review the front transition and hair direction alongside the knot or injection specification.

Density and Finished Weight
Distribute the hair across the crown, parting and perimeter to achieve the desired coverage. Check base density separately from long-hair ratio and fullness through the lengths.

Clips and Tape-Compatible Areas
Specify clip quantity, size, color and placement, or develop suitable tape attachment zones. Check their stitching or surface compatibility together with the base and intended wearing method.
Topper Manufacturing
From Base Preparation to a Finished Topper
The approved sample connects the base, hair and attachment choices. Production follows that reference, with the appropriate hair placement method for each part of the construction.

Base Preparation
Prepare the materials around the approved dimensions, contour and coverage area. Assemble the chosen layers and mark the parting, density and attachment zones.

Hair Placement
Hand-ventilate the designated mesh areas, or use the specified injection or wefted construction where appropriate. Follow the agreed hair direction and density layout for each section.

Attachment and Edge Finishing
Sew on clips where specified and finish the perimeter. For tape-compatible versions, check the attachment area against the approved surface and fitting requirements.

Finished Sample Comparison
Compare the base size, parting, density, weight and color with the approved sample. Check hair retention, attachments and overall workmanship before protective packing.

Hair Quality

Specify the materials, dimensions, front contour and coverage area. Include clip placement or tape-compatible zones so the base and attachment work together.
Density and Parting
Develop the parting position, hair direction and density zones. Confirm the front construction, knot or injection details and the transition into the surrounding hair.
Length, Weight and Texture
Choose lengths in two-inch increments and straight or wavy textures. Coordinate finished weight, single-drawn or double-drawn fullness and long-hair ratio with the base size.
Color Development
Develop solid, rooted, highlighted, piano, ombré, balayage or custom shades. Use the Hair Extension Color Ring as a starting reference, then approve root depth and color placement on the topper.
Private Label
Coordinate labels, cards, bags, boxes and product presentation for your brand. Match the fitting and care information to the approved attachment system.
